Trade & Hospitality Terms of Sale

These Terms & Conditions apply to all trade, contract, and hospitality transactions with Modern Coastal Living Ltd (“the Supplier”).

By placing an order, accepting a quotation, or submitting a purchase order, the Client acknowledges and agrees to these Terms in full.

Modern Coastal Living works in exclusive collaboration with Vondom, a world-leading Mediterranean manufacturer of sustainable designer furniture crafted from reclaimed ocean plastics. Together, we supply eco-luxury collections for the global hospitality and design industry.

2. Quotations & Orders

Written quotations remain valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.

Orders must be confirmed in writing. Once an order has been accepted and a deposit received, production will commence and the order becomes binding.

All furniture is made to order. Because production is scheduled specifically for each client, modifications or cancellations after commencement are not permitted without written agreement.

3. Pricing & Payment Terms

Prices are quoted in the currency stated on the quotation and are generally Ex-Works (Valencia, Spain) unless otherwise noted.

VAT, duties, and shipping will be added in accordance with destination and chosen delivery terms.

Payment Schedule:

50% deposit on order confirmation
50% balance prior to dispatch

All deposits are non-refundable once production has started.

Ownership of goods transfers only after payment has been received in full.

4. Production & Lead Times

Each piece is produced by Vondom’s master craftsmen to order.

Indicative lead times will be provided at the quotation stage and may vary depending on collection, season, and logistics.

Delays resulting from material shortages, customs, or external factors beyond our control shall not constitute breach of contract.

5. Delivery & Incoterms

All deliveries are arranged in accordance with Incoterms 2020.

United Kingdom & European Union (EU)

Orders to the UK and EU are supplied on a DAP (Delivered At Place) basis.

Modern Coastal Living, in partnership with Vondom, will arrange transport and insurance from the manufacturing facility in Valencia, Spain, to the agreed delivery address.

The buyer is responsible for any import duties, VAT, or customs fees upon arrival in the destination country.

Rest of World (Outside the UK & EU)

Orders outside these regions are supplied on an EXW (Ex-Works Valencia, Spain) basis.

Under EXW terms, the buyer is responsible for collection, export documentation, insurance, and freight from the manufacturer’s premises.

Ownership and risk transfer to the buyer once the goods are made available for collection.

All shipping details and the applicable Incoterm will be stated clearly on each quotation or invoice prior to order confirmation.

6. Inspection & Acceptance

The Client must inspect all goods upon delivery and report any visible damage, defect, or discrepancy within 48 hours.

After this period, goods are deemed accepted and no claims for visible damage will be considered.

In the event of concealed damage, photographic evidence must be provided immediately upon discovery.

7. Cancellations & Returns

Because all trade and hospitality orders are custom-made to specification, cancellations after production has begun will result in forfeiture of the deposit.

Returns are not accepted except in cases of confirmed manufacturing defect authorised in writing by Modern Coastal Living.

Where a defect is verified, we may, at our discretion, repair, replace, or credit the affected goods.

8. Warranty

A 12-month manufacturer’s warranty covers structural integrity and workmanship under normal contract use.

This warranty excludes natural wear and tear, misuse, improper storage, unauthorised modification, or exposure beyond product guidelines.

Claims must be made in writing with supporting photographs within 14 days of discovery.

9. Intellectual Property

All designs, imagery, and written content are protected by international copyright and design rights.

They remain the exclusive property of:

Vondom S.L.U., the manufacturer and intellectual property holder;
Their associated designers, including Ramón Esteve, Eugeni Quitllet, Karim Rashid, Ross Lovegrove, and Jean-Marie Massaud; and
Modern Coastal Living Ltd, as authorised distributor and design partner for the UK and international markets.

No imagery, product descriptions, or design content from Modern Coastal Living or Vondom may be copied, edited, or reproduced without written consent.

Any marketing assets supplied by Modern Coastal Living are licensed solely for the promotion of official Vondom products within approved projects or media features.

10. Liability & Force Majeure

The Supplier shall not be liable for indirect or consequential loss, project delays, or loss of profit.

Events beyond reasonable control — including but not limited to manufacturing delays, strikes, shipping disruption, or natural disasters — may extend delivery schedules without penalty.
