Returns & Refunds
We want you to feel completely confident when ordering from Modern Coastal Living. As every piece is made to order in the Mediterranean, our returns process is designed to protect both you and the craftsmanship involved.
1. Reporting Damage on Delivery
If your item or its packaging shows any signs of damage on arrival, please notify us immediately.
To help us resolve the issue quickly, please:
- Take clear photos of the packaging and any visible damage
- Email the images to us within 48 hours of delivery
- Include your order number and contact details
This documentation allows us to raise a claim with our manufacturer and delivery partners without delay.

2. Returns Process
Because our furniture is made to order, returns are only accepted for:
- confirmed manufacturing defects
- transit damage reported within 48 hours
If your return meets these criteria, please follow the steps below.
Step 1 — Request Authorisation
Contact us with your:
- order number
- reason for return
- supporting photos
If approved, we will issue a Return Authorisation (RA) number, which must be clearly marked on the outer packaging.
Step 2 — Repack Carefully
Items must be returned in their original packaging, securely sealed to prevent damage during transit.
Step 3 — Arrange Shipping
Unless the return relates to a confirmed defect, customers are responsible for:
- return shipping costs
- customs fees (if applicable)
- using a tracked and insured courier
We will provide the correct return address upon approval.
3. What Happens Next
Inspection
Once your item is received, please allow up to 10 working days for a Quality Assurance inspection.
Refunds or Replacements
If a fault is confirmed, you may choose between:
- a refund to your original payment method
- a replacement item
Refunds typically appear within 10 working days of processing.
4. Important Exceptions
- As our products are made to order, they are non-returnable unless defective or damaged upon delivery.
- Returned items must be unused and in original condition and packaging.
- We cannot accept returns for damage caused by misuse, incorrect installation, improper storage or natural wear and tear.
5. Warranty
Our furniture includes a 3-year manufacturer’s warranty, covering:
- structural faults
- material defects
- manufacturing issues
The warranty does not cover:
- misuse or impact damage
- improper installation
- harsh environmental exposure
- wear and tear
